Absztrakt (kivonat)
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought new difficulties to all our lives. Those already in need, are challenged each day by a growing food insecurity. This paper examines the changing situation of stakeholders, especially focusing on retail chains and corporate social responsibility actions intended to reduce hunger and achieve food security. After the overview of literature, the comparison of three chosen retail chains’ missions, and then a content analysis of their website was made comparing global companies and their Hungarian subsidiaries, in two periods, before and during the pandemic. Supplementary interviews were also conducted with representatives of involved companies to get a deeper understanding of their actions. The aim of this paper is, to summarize the main pillars of CSR actions against food insecurity, and highlight the threats, opportunities, and innovative solutions this crisis has brought to the CSR landscape reducing hunger.
