The Effect of Wealth Inequalities on Bank Runs = A vagyoni egyenlőtlenségek hatása a bankcsődök kialakulására

In this study we investigate the effect of wage inequalities on the risk of bank runs. Empirical evidence suggest that wage and income inequalities can lead to more frequent bank runs. To better understand this connection we develop an agent-based model (ABM) based on the Diamond-Dybvig bank run model. We run computer simulations with a network of depositors. Our results suggest that both systematic shocks and wealth inequalities are of great importance to the banking sector, as they increase the risk of a bank run.
