Absztrakt (kivonat)
Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory dermatologic condition that significantly impacts a patient's quality of life. Several measures have been developed to measure the health utility and the health-related quality of life. First, Direct Utility assessment measures, which are divided into (1) time trade-off (TTO) Standard gamble (SG), Person tradeoff (PTO), and Discrete choice experiment (DCE). (2) Contingent evaluation Preference-based method” Willingness to pay (WTP)”. Second, Indirect Utility assessment measures include Generic HRQoL questionnaires and Specific HRQoL questionnaires both are used to calculate an index value corresponding to the quality life of the patient. Objectives: The primary aim was to catalogue HRQoL scores in (1) atopic dermatitis adult patients, measured with (2) the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) (3) time trade-off method (TTO) or (4) EuroQol-5D (EQ-5D) Methods A keyword-based search strategy based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guideline was employed for searching PubMed on the time trade-off approach (TTO), Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), and EuroQol-5D (EQ-5D) used to measure QoL in adult Atopic Dermatitis patients between November 2022 and February 8th, 2023. A random effect meta-analysis was performed to pool mean DLQI values from 47 studies. Results: In total, 809 records were found and screened by title and abstract, with 111 being examined in full text. DLQI approach was employed in the majority of the investigations (n =43). EQ-5D was utilized in nine studies while TTO was employed in four. In total, 43 studies were fit to be meta-analyzed. The pooled mean DLQI estimate for AD in the adult population was 9.764 (95% CI (8.846-10.682), indicating a moderate effect on QoL and I2 =93.67%, indicating high heterogeneity across studies. Conclusion Our review found significant variation in DLQI means values across studies indicating a vastly diverse Patient perception of Atopic Dermatitis.
