This thesis explores the integration and assimilation of Chinese immigrants in Hungary, as well as the attitudes of Hungarian citizens towards Chinese immigrants and immigration. The Chinese have very distinct migration patterns in general, and their situation in Hungary also differs from most migrant groups arriving to Hungary. This thesis explores the situation from both sides. Data collection was conducted through the method of online survey questionnaires. And the gathered data was analysed by the author in SPSS. Since there are two separate target groups, two separate surveys have been made, to explore the situation and attitudes of the separate target groups. One questionnaire aimed at Chinese Immigrants is later called QCI (Questionnaire for Chinese Immigrants), and the other that explores Hungarian Citizens is later called QHC (Questionnaire for Hungarian Citizens). There have been significant informal findings with regards to the distribution of QCI. Even after sending it to a large number of people from the target group, only a low number of answers have been received. There have been no such problems for the QHC. The results found that the Chinese immigrants in Hungary are relatively well integrated based on factors such as language use, but there is still significant improvements to be made. They often stick to small microcultures, and not mix with Hungarians that often. The Hungarian citizens seem to be more neutral about Chinese immigrants, or gave slightly positively leaning opinions. With crosstabulations done in SPSS the result is seen that those who personally know Chinese people, have a more positive opinion about them in general. However, the respondents of both questionnaires also pointed out that there is significant discrimination and negative treatment, that Chinese people face in Hungary.
