Abstract

This thesis examines the occupational burnout among Millennial employees, which has been a hot topic in the 20th century. Burnout is not just a state of mind, but a condition that leaves its mark on the brain as well as on the body. Furthermore, this thesis explains how social identity is relevant to Millennials’ workgroup environment. The author conducted an online survey on burnout and group identity. Millennials manage to maintain a high work-life balance. The research result was that contributing factors to burnout are experienced among the respondents, but general burnout is not reported. Burnout can be solved and managed both on a personal and organizational level with different interventions.
